HOLLYWOOD (Perfect Music Today) 9/2/20/–Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Steve Azar and Cedric Burnside’s timely song “Coldwater” from Azar’s forthcoming album. My Mississippi Reunion, a collection of Azar’s songs in tribute to his home state, will be available October 23.

This song was written and produced by Steve Azar, recorded and mixed by Mills Logan, and mastered by Jim Dimane at Yes Master. Additional tracking was done by Steve Azar at The Sweatbox and by Ryan Bridges at The Delta Music Institute Studio A.

Musicians on the track are Cedric Burnside on drums and vocals; Steve Azar on guitar and vocals; Charlie Judge on keys; Barry Bays on bass; and Kenny Greenburg on guitars.

The video was filmed by Richard Word Jr. and directed by Johnny Rivercat. “We’re in Coldwater, and we’re in too deep” might well be the mantra for our times.  Teaming up with Cedric Burnside is pure gold for Steve Azar. This album knocks it out of the park.

After detouring through Coldwater [Mississippi] one afternoon and seeing that sign, like so many of my songs on My Mississippi Reunion I was uniquely inspired. With these trying times for so many of us everywhere, I gotta tell you, the song just wrote itself. I laid down a quick guitar vocal and reached out to my pal Cedric Burnside, sent him the tune and asked him to join me on the recording. We had a blast. I’ve shared the stage many times with Cedric but this was the first time we got together in the studio and made a record. The experience was equally as powerful — Steve Azar
