HOLLYWOOD (Perfect Music Today) 6/26/18/– Kentucky Native’s Album, Co-Produced by Mike Wanchic (John Mellencamp) and Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket) Recorded in Nashville (IN) and Nashville Singer-songwriter Stoll Vaughan’s The Conversation was recorded entirely in Nashville-that is to say, seven of the album’s 13 tracks were produced in Nashville, IN by John Mellencamp’s co-producer and guitarist Mike Wanchic; production duties for the remainder were taken care of by My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel in Nashville, TN. Backing musicians include Mike’s Mellencamp bandmates Andy York on guitar, drummer Dane Clark and keyboardist Troye Kinnett, on tracks produced by Wanchic. Tracks produced by Broemel, you will hear Broemel himself along with MMJ bandmate Tom Blankenship on bass for “Own The World.”

 

At the start of his recording career, Stoll released two albums (Hold on Thru Sleep and Dreams and Love Like A Mule) that were produced by Wanchic. Both hit the Top 10 on the Americana chart. Vaughan has toured with the likes of John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Marty Stuart, Don Williams, James McMurtry and as an opening act for a Journey and Def-Leppard co-bill. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter’s efforts have been heard on major motion picture and network TV series soundtracks like True Blood, Shameless, Friday Night Lights, and The Office. He composed music for David Lynch’s Webby Award-winning Internet documentary series Interview Project.

The Conversation includes tracks “Further Down The Line,” featured in the film The Open Road, and “Meet You In The Middle,” heard on the finale of hit TV series The Office.

Stoll’s thought provoking lyrics and craft are a reflection of his influences: Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, James McMurtry, and Bob Dylan, as well as eclectic Nashville contemporary country music greats Marty Stuart and Greg Garing.
