HOLLYWOOD (Perfect Music Today) 6/27/18–A tough kid from Chicago’s South Side, Paul Butterfield learned the blues from the original masters in his own backyard.  His interracial band added a rock edge to the music and played a key role in introducing the Chicago blues to the white, rock audience of the mid-1960s.  Until his death in 1987 at the age of 44, Paul expanded the definition of what the blues could be, while remaining a strong advocate of racial equality.
