A Special Evening of Tribute Bands
By Michael Cohan
San Juan Capistrano(Perfect Music Today)5/8/16/–On April 30th, a Saturday Night Special evening at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano delivered a jumpin’ double bill set of tribute rockin’ fun with Lyvyn Skynrd and Mick Adams & the Stones. . Both bands more than aptly demonstrated their groups’ authenticity and captured the vibe of each band to their fullest potential for a bargain price!
Upon meeting some friends seated in the closest balcony box on the side, Lyvyn hit the stage with southern fire ablazin’ on all cylinders. Blistering through the classic hits the aforementioned Saturday Night Special they added I Know a Little, Call Me the Breeze, and the Gimme Songs (3 Steps and Bulletts) they’ve become the perennial Skynyrd tribute of all time.
Lead singer Andrew Mazarelli (Ronnie Van Zant) fronts the super talented 8 piece band with each musician providing the necessary accompanying edge for the ultimate Skynyrd sound. Always finishing with a dynamic Free Bird this band is a must to see. http://lyvynskynyrd.com/
The headliner of the evening was the ever popular Mick Adams & the Stones tribute band having appeared on AXS TV show, “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands,” created by Ryan Seacrest and Mark Cuban. Producer and host Katie Daryl emphasizes that Mick is magical as he transforms into the quintessential Jagger. Jerry Greenberg, former President of Atlantic Records, who signed the original, highly recommends Adams as the world’s greatest impersonator of Mick Jagger as they all give their stamp of approval and endorsement. The band never employs backing tracks and has been hailed as a 7 piece, live interpretation of a Rolling Stones concert playing songs from every decade spanning 50 plus years and counting. They also undergo the usual costume changes with full choreography along with a multi-faceted media show just like seeing them live. Everything is covered from “Sympathy for the Devil” and “Street Fighting Man” to “Miss You” and “Shattered” and beyond the energy of this band will grab you by the butt and get you on your feet!
Comprised of Mick Adams(the Jagger look-a-like) and his entourage of entertainers which include Jeff Schofield from the L. A. band Harlot(Keith Richards), Vince Lupo resembling his protégé(Charlie Watts), Marvin Sperling’s dynamic bass(Bill Wyman), Ethan Brown as the 6th Stone on keyboards (Chuck Leavell), Karl Sanger saxophonist(Bobby Keys), and Taylin Rae’s soaring vocals.
The band has toured extensively within the southern California area and Las Vegas where they have headlined consistently at many casinos, hotels, and clubs. For three years in a row they have enjoyed New Year’s Eve during the Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience and the Las Vegas Hilton. They have performed at K-Earth’s 50th anniversary party at Universal Amphitheater and played at the House of Blues and many other venues.
When they hit the stage together you can feel the energy pouring out as Adams and his Gang will Start You Up and lead you through each song while building on the last for 90 minutes plus. Enjoy the Show and the recreation of possibly the best rock and roll band of all time!
