Michael Hepworth<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n 50 YEARS OF JEFF BECK,\u00a0 Buddy Guy, Billy Gibbons, Steven Tyler, Jan Hammer at the \u00a0HOLLYWOOD Bowl 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201c I came to the Hollywood Bowl in 1965 as a tourist. I never would have believed back then that I\u2019d be playing here 50 years on.\u201dJB<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0By Jimmy Steinfeldt<\/span><\/p>\n HOLLYWOOD(Perfect Music Today)8\/18\/16\/–The evening kicked off with Yardbirds\u2019 songs including Over Under Sideways Down, and For Your Love both sung by Jimmy Hall. Then legendary keyboardist ,\u00a0(composer of the Miami Vice theme and many movie scores) sat in on songs including Freeway Jam, and Star Cycle. Beck seemed especially moved by having Hammer perform with him. Then Beth Hart sang the Etta James song I\u2019d Rather Go Blind.<\/p>\n The maestro himself was impressed with the night, the audience, and his celebrated friends who came out to share history with him.<\/p>\n I\u2019d read that Beck was a fan of Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top and in particular the beautiful melodic song Rough Boy. Well Gibbons joined Beck on stage and explained that Beck asked him if he would perform the song together. They followed it up with a rendition of Company Store. There was an obvious mutual admiration between these two guitar legends and they really enjoyed playing with each other.<\/p>\n Then out of the side door came the one and only Steven Tyler. Carrying his trademark mic stand covered in scarfs. He sang Train Kept A-Rollin\u2019 and also Shapes of Things. It truly was a lovefest since Beck has often stated that Guy was one of his main influences.\u00a0\u00a0Buddy Guy also was the opening act doing practically a whole set and sounding great.<\/div>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
