West Hollywood(Perfect Music Today)8\/16\/16\/–Huge turnout last night for the Baron Wolman artist reception. \u00a0The event raised funds for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit that facilitates music education. This event celebrated his book The Woodstock Years. The center piece of the exhibit is a 6×10 foot black and white photographic print of the audience at Woodstock. All night long the pretty people posed in front of the giant photo.<\/p>\n

Wolman was introduced by Pamela Des Barres formerly known as the rock and roll groupie, \u201cMiss Pamela.\u201d \u00a0Both Wolman and Des Barres spoke about their collaboration over the years and the Wolman photography book \u2018Groupies\u2019.<\/p>\n

Wolman was the chief staff photographer for Rolling Stone magazine joining at its inception in 1967. Wolman’s photographic style has influenced most every music photographer including myself. His photographs of Woodstock are legendary. He has photographed virtually all the great music artists over the last 50 years including: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, The Who, and many more. He\u2019s published many books of music photography as well as books on Ariel photography and a photo documentary book on the Oakland Raiders.<\/p>\n
