Tell me Jon about the Music Industry Reunion.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jon Scott<\/strong>: This is the 4th<\/sup>\u00a0year of the Reunion and the first one I did came about because of my old friend Al Coury. He helped me greatly with the T.J. Martell Foundation golf tournament. It was sad that I didn\u2019t get to say goodbye to Al because I didn\u2019t know he was sick and then he passed away.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a special bond among the people in the music industry and one of the main reasons we have the Reunion is to give all of us a chance to spend some time with each other again. Every Promo man, publicist, manager, producer, or whatever they did in the music industry has a story. It was also great that we had legendary musicians there this year. Brian Auger, and Albert Lee<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The stories were really flying that night. Remember we were not only friends back in they day we were fierce competitors too. Pitting each other\u2019s records against each other.\u00a0 There were rivalries back then but there was also a bond.<\/p>\n

There were some people who were at the Reunion last year that were not there this year. So I saw people this year hugging each other. When I gave my speech to the 400 attendees this year, our biggest turnout ever, I said hug your friends.<\/p>\n

J.Steinfeldt.<\/strong>. And the morning after your great Reunion, Prince passed away.<\/p>\n

Scott<\/strong>: Exactly, you never know the next time you are going to see your friend. That\u2019s why I said at the Reunion \u201cGive your friends a big hug.\u201d That\u2019s what the Reunion is about. It\u2019s sort of a big Hug-A-Thon.<\/p>\n

Steinfeldt<\/strong> I\u2019m from Minneapolis and Prince\u2019s manager Owen Husney, and Prince\u2019s producer David Z. where both at the Reunion. I even ran into Al Bergamo who I photographed 30 years ago and hadn\u2019t seen him since.<\/p>\n

Scott<\/strong> The word is getting out about this event. Even though we only get the word out via Facebook, and some music magazines, we had 400 people there this year. The word is getting spread that it\u2019s a fun party, no stress.<\/p>\n

The only thing that bothers me about the Reunion is when after it\u2019s over and people see photos of who was there they say to me \u201cI didn\u2019t know so and so was there. I was there and I wish I had known they were there in the room!\u201d We have so many people that it is easy to spend the whole evening there and not see an old friend across the room.<\/p>\n

Steinfeldt<\/strong> Perhaps next year you could post a list of who has RSVP\u2019d a few days before the event.<\/p>\n

Scott<\/strong> Jimmy that\u2019s a good idea, we\u2019ll do that next year.<\/p>\n

Steinfeldt<\/strong> Speaking of stories Jon, I want to thank you for giving me a great story about Isaac Hayes for my upcoming book Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roll Lens Volume II. And also for introducing me to others in the industry who have great stories about legendary musicians.<\/p>\n

Scott<\/strong> Happy to do it. I hope to make it to your photo exhibit on May 25 celebrating your first book.<\/p>\n

Steinfeldt<\/strong> What was the highlight of this year\u2019s Reunion for you?<\/p>\n

Scott<\/strong> Two things. First I received a Proclamation from the L.A. City Council signed by every council member. I\u2019ve also received Congressional and State honors recognizing the work I\u2019ve done for charity, and T.J. Martell Foundation. Second, the fact that so many people flew in from across the country to be at the Reunion. So that makes me really happy. We\u2019ve also done two of these Reunions in New York. The Reunion just keeps getting bigger and bigger.<\/p>\n
