Apparently, they now think that you do get better from long-term Covid; it\u2019s not forever. That is good.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<em>To help Faithfull with mounting health costs, more than a dozen artists have recorded covers of songs for a benefit album,\u00a0The Faithful: A Tribute to Marianne Faithfull, for her. Cat Power and Iggy Pop\u00a0teamed to recreate her uniquely cutting rendition of John Lennon\u2019s \u201cWorking Class Hero,\u201d Shirley Manson and Peaches collaborated on the bawdy \u201cWhy\u2019d Ya Do It,\u201d and Lydia Lunch recorded \u201cLove, Life, and Money.\u201d Guitarist Barry Reynolds, who played on Faithfull\u2019s\u00a0Broken English\u00a0album, joined Tammy Faye Starlite for\u00a0Broken English\u2019s\u00a0\u201cThe Ballad of Lucy Jordan.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0In light of this, we thought to offer Tammy Faye\u2019s video for \u201cThe Ballad of Lucy Jordan\u201d and encourage you to share it.\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/7f9y7.r.a.d.sendibm1.com\/mk\/cl\/f\/sh\/SMK1E8tHeFuBopJXTbZIr0g2Nzdc\/K46IrkRmyDTT\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/Pjnc7lkQj60?si=EB17iPvpltwr8k3a<\/a>\u00a0The song is, of course, one of the cornerstones of Faithfull\u2019s groundbreaking\u00a0<em>Broken English<\/em>\u00a0album. He was\u00a0responsible for a range of innovative hits for a widely diverse array of talented performers including Johnny Cash (\u201cA Boy Named Sue\u201d) Dr. Hook (\u201cThe Cover of \u2018Rolling Stone\u2019,\u201d \u201cSylvia\u2019s Mother\u201d), Waylon Jennings, Bobby Bare, Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee, Judy Collins and Jerry Lee Lewis. The video was directed by\u00a0Michael Schiralli with the aforementioned Reynolds providing instrumental accompaniment.\u00a0\u00a0Schiralli, who has worked with Tammy Faye numerous times in the past on her portrayals of both Faithful and Nico, is directing the latest production of\u00a0<em>She\u2019s a Rainbow: Marianne Faithfull Sings the Songs She Inspired \u2013 A Cabaret Fantasia Revisited (Part 2 of the CS Blues Series)<\/em>\u00a0that returns to Pangea for one performance on Friday, December 22. Keys change, tunings melt, myths vanish. She\u00a0might become someone else in the process, who knows.
