ABKCO Records has announced that it will release\u00a0Priscilla<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)<\/em>\u00a0on all streaming digital platforms November 3 in conjunction with the\u00a0US release of the latest feature film written and directed by Sofia Coppola. Starring Cailee Spaeny in the title role and Jacob Elordi as Elvis Presley, the film is based on Priscilla Presley\u2019s bestselling memoir\u00a0Elvis and Me<\/em>.\u00a0Priscilla<\/em>\u00a0is released in US cinemas today via A24 and select international territories via MUBI, including in the UK on December 26th.Stream\u00a0<\/strong>Priscilla \u2013 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0now<\/strong><\/a>When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend. Through Priscilla\u2019s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.\u00a0Priscilla\u00a0<\/em>music supervision is by Phoenix and Randall Poster who have created an eclectic soundtrack that is both a reflection of the times chronicled in the film and underscores the personalities who portray the most famous married couple in 20th<\/sup>\u00a0century American history.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Two #1 hits from the era of the Presleys courtship and marriage, \u201cVenus\u201d by Frankie Avalon and \u201cCrimson and Clover\u201d by Tommy James and the Shondells, are part of the\u00a0Priscilla\u00a0<\/em>soundtrack. \u201cVenus\u201d spent five weeks atop Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 chart in 1959 while \u201cCrimson and Clover\u201d topped that same chart almost exactly ten years later. \u201cSweet Nothin\u2019s,\u201d the 1959 Brenda Lee smash hit in both the US and Great Britain, is also featured in the\u00a0Priscilla\u00a0<\/em>album. Somewhat more contemporary, though representing an earlier era, is the Ramones version of \u201cBaby, I Love You.\u201d The song was written by Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich and Phil Spector originally for the Ronettes; the Ramones cover, also a Spector production, went on to be the band\u2019s biggest UK hit in 1980. The Righteous Brothers version of \u201c(I Love You) for Sentimental Reasons,\u201d also produced by Spector, is included as is \u201cForever,\u201d the recording by The Little Dippers (a pseudonym for the Anita Kerr Singers). The latter was a top 10 single in 1960. Speedy West, the LA-based pedal steel player, who was a session man of great renown, is heard on \u201cRippling Waters\u201d while The Orlons\u2019 recording of \u201cGoin\u2019 Places,\u201d a Bob Crewe production, is also part of the\u00a0Priscilla<\/em>\u00a0collection.\u00a0\u00a0The 17-track set includes \u201cWade In the Water\u201d by The Soul Stirrers, co-written and produced Sam Cooke, whose gospel career flourished when he joined the famed group.\u00a0 After he pursued secular music, he produced later recordings by the Soul Stirrers with Paul Foster serving as lead singer as heard on the album. \u201cNobody Knows\u201d by Pastor T.L. Barrett & the Youth Christ Choir reprises The Soul Stirrers\u2019 gospel spirit on the\u00a0Priscilla\u00a0<\/em>soundtrack.\u00a0\u201cGoing Home\u201d adapted from the second movement of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 in D by legendary jazz innovator Alice Coltrane, backed by Charlie Haden and Ben Riley, leads off the\u00a0Priscilla<\/em>\u00a0set and dates from her 1973 album\u00a0Lord of Lords<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThe Crystal Cat\u201d by electronic composer\/performer Dan Deacon is part of\u00a0Priscilla<\/em>. His music has been heard on the soundtracks to such recent films as\u00a0All Light, Everywhere<\/em>,\u00a0Ascension\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Twixt.<\/em>\u00a0Composer, performer, and producer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, who works primarily with the Buchla 100 synthesizer, is heard on \u201cStratus\u201d while percussionist and jazz vibraphonist\u00a0Erik Charlston\u2019s take on Orff Schulwerk\u2019s \u201cGassenhaurer\u201d is included.\u00a0 Spectrum\u2019s \u201cHow You Satisfy Me\u201d continues in that modernist vein.
