While not performing,&nbsp;<strong>Herb Alpert<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Misty Copeland&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Burt Bacharach&nbsp;<\/strong>will join the celebration, which will also feature special pre-recorded appearances by&nbsp;<strong>Sheryl Crow<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Yusuf\/Cat Stevens<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Sting<\/strong>.*The evening will honor the vast contributions Moss has made to music on a global level. The 90-minute concert will be held at The Music Center\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musiccenter.org\/visit-explore\/visit-explore\/campus\/mark-taper-forum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark Taper Forum<\/a>&nbsp;on January 14, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. PT. Additional performers will be announced. A limited number of concert tickets are on sale now at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musiccenter.org\/moss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">musiccenter.org\/moss<\/a>&nbsp;starting<br>at $43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally scheduled for February 2022, the event was postponed&nbsp;due to rising COVID-19 cases. The reimagined evening will also feature&nbsp;a pre-concert reception and a post-performance dinner honoring Moss, with proceeds supporting free and low-cost programming to help ensure arts experiences are accessible for all Angelenos;&nbsp;a cause that has been a passion for Moss throughout his career. The Music Center\u2019s three original venues on its campus are united by an expansive outdoor area, which is now named Jerry Moss Plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<em>Live at The Music Center: Concert Celebrating Jerry Moss, Co-Founder of A&amp;M Records\u00a0<\/em>musical performances will showcase the most celebrated songs produced under Moss\u2019s guidance, in addition to stories and visuals illustrating and evoking the spirit and legacy of A&amp;M Records, fostered by the music mogul and his business partner and A&amp;M Records co-founder, Herb Alpert. Moss helped make the company the epicenter of the music business in Los Angeles for decades; the evening will spotlight his commitment to identifying highly talented artists and providing them with the artistic freedom and support to advance their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJerry Moss has always been a music lover first. Creating A&amp;M Records from humble beginnings in a garage, Moss and Alpert launched the company with a handshake and an investment of $200 from both men; they turned the company into one of the most influential music makers of the century. Over 25 years, A&amp;M grew into the largest independent record label in the world as it championed the art of the artist and greatly valued indisputable and genuine talent. A&amp;M signed many of the industry\u2019s most successful musical artists, including&nbsp;<strong>The Police, The Carpenters, Janet Jackson, Carole King, Joe Cocker and Peter Frampton, among many others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After selling A&amp;M records to Polygram in 1989, Moss and Alpert formed Almo Sounds. Moss serves as chairman of both Almo Sounds and Rondor Music Inc., a music publishing company, which has held over 65,000 songs, many of which are considered timeless classics in the industry.
