HOLLYWOOD (Perfect Music Today) 2\/11\/21\/–‘Rollin\u2019 and Tumblin\u2019,\u201d\u00a0focus\u00a0track from\u00a0The Big Bad Blues<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0Billy Gibbons\u2019 award-winning solo album,<\/em>\u00a0is the subject of a new video\u00a0set for\u00a0release this week. \u00a0The\u00a0\u201cRollin\u2019 and Tumblin\u2019\u201d\u00a0video follows\u00a0the album\u2019s\u00a0\u201cMissin\u2019 Yo\u2019 Kissin\u2019\u201d that has become an online sensation. \u00a0\u00a0Sales of\u00a0The Big Bad Blues,\u00a0<\/em>both physical and digital,\u00a0have\u00a0soared since\u00a0the video debuted this past spring.<\/p>\n

As with \u201cMissin\u2019 Yo\u2019 Kissin\u2019,\u201d the concert footage seen in \u201cRolling and Tumblin\u2019\u201d was shot\u00a0with the\u00a0ZZ Top front man along\u00a0with Matt Sorum (drums) and Austin Hanks (guitar). \u00a0Texas filmmaker, Harry Reese, caught the act on camera at\u00a0San Antonio\u2019s famous downtown \u00a0Aztec\u00a0Theatre at the conclusion of their nationwide tour.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0\u201cRollin\u2019 and Tumblin\u2019\u201d\u00a0video\u00a0follows the\u00a0release by Concord Record of\u00a0The Big Bad Blues<\/em>\u00a0album\u00a0from way back in 2018.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0sepia-toned\u00a0\u201cRollin\u2019 and Tumblin\u2019\u201d video clip combines\u00a0Reese\u2019s live concert footage of Billy\u00a0and the band\u2019s\u00a0high energy\u00a0set\u00a0with high-speed desertscapes\u00a0and\u00a0foreboding\u00a0skyscapes; the combination of which\u00a0evokes\u00a0a genuine sense of manic, unearthly,\u00a0mystery.<\/p>\n

The song was a natural choice for inclusion in\u00a0The Big Bad Blues\u00a0<\/em>that was produced by Billy and the late Joe Hardy.\u00a0\u00a0Chess Records released Muddy Waters\u2019 definitive version in 1950 on its Argo label although the song\u2019s roots date back almost more than 90 years to Hambone Willie Newbern\u2019s \u201cRoll and Tumble Blues,\u201d released on Okeh Records.\u00a0Other versions or derivations of the song\u00a0released under\u00a0various\u00a0titles\u00a0have been recorded by Robert Johnson, Sleepy John Estes, Sunnyland Slim, Charley Patton, Elmore James, Howlin\u2019 Wolf, Canned Heat, Johnny Shines, R.L. Burnside, \u00a0Cream, Johnny Winter, Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck, the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan, among others.<\/p>\n

Billy Gibbons commented, \u201c\u2019Rollin\u2019 and Tumblin\u2019\u2019 is the musical embodiment of our favored slogan \u2018blues you can use.\u2019 \u00a0No matter how it\u2019s interpreted, it\u2019s the sound of the now and the future, too! We\u2019re happy to have it out again as our contribution to continuum\u00a0that is the blues.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Big Bad Blues<\/em>\u00a0was named Best Blues Rock Album of the year at the Blues Music Awards in May of 2019\u00a0and has been a fixture on Billboard\u2019s Blues Chart since its release.\u00a0At present Billy is working hard on the follow up solo-album with Sorum and Hanks while arranging for the next ZZ Top release.<\/p>\n
