We told you about\u00a0Tammy Faye Starlite: Standing By<\/i><\/b>, her show from Pangea\/New York\u2019s inaugural Ghost Light streaming series. It had a much lauded four week run that concluded on November 22 but, thanks to popular demand and the video on demand gods, it\u2019s back for another\u00a0two week run. \u00a0It\u2019s streaming now through December 14 so please avail yourself of tickets to the show that Jason Sol\u00eds of \u00a0The New York Times just called \u201cunmissable,\u201d characterizing it as \u201can unforgettable evening of rock through a different lens.” \u00a0 He had reviewed the show earlier and that piece is pasted below.<\/div>\n

\u201cWhat if I told you there was a reason for it all?\u201d declares the alt-right country singer\u00a0Tammy Faye Starlite<\/a>\u00a0at the top of her new show \u201cStanding By.\u201d Claiming to know the causes behind the disease, geopolitical displacement and chaos that have plagued us this year, she dissects modern America through classic rock and country songs, in preparation for the \u201cgreat awakening,\u201d a rapture-like event she mentions in the show.<\/p>\n

Starlite is the persona created by the left-wing artist Tammy Lang, as an exercise in empathy toward the\u00a0 positions of those on the other side of the political spectrum. But Lang knows there is no place for contempt when you\u2019re trying to see the world through the eyes of others.<\/p>\n

And so when Starlite unironically turns to the Rolling Stones\u2019 \u201cSympathy for the Devil\u201d or the Who\u2019s \u201cWon\u2019t Get Fooled Again\u201d to prove her points, she reveals a literalist \u2014 someone whose fear is real, albeit misguided.<\/p>\n
