Los Angeles…(Perfect Music Today)9\/4\/20\/– – We Can Do This Now<\/strong> (WCDTN), a call-to-action organization for justice, raising awareness and funds for\u00a0Fridays For\u00a0Future and Black Lives Matter,\u00a0has announced the worldwide release of the EP \u201cWe Can Do This Now\u201d on September 4, 2020.\u00a0The EP features<\/span>\u00a0five versions of the original song, \u201cWe Can Do This Now\u201d\u00a0which\u00a0<\/span>was inspired by Greta Thunberg’s speech, “Our House Is\u00a0<\/span>On<\/span>\u00a0Fire.\u201d \u00a0It was adapted and composed by singer\/songwriter Quincy Coleman.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

The lead track on the EP,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>distributed\u00a0by Dash\/Go Distribution, features singer\/songwriter Chris Pierce and the West Los Angeles Children\u2019s Choir directed by Barbara Klaskin Silberg.<\/span><\/div>\n

WCDTN is desig<\/span>ned to create,\u00a0<\/span>educate<\/span>\u00a0and celebrate consciousness and unity with proceeds going to Thunberg’s Fridays For Future\u00a0as well as Black Lives Matter via the WCDTN website\u00a0<\/span>WeCanDoThisNow.Org<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The impetus for the song\u00a0<\/span>dates back to<\/span>\u00a02009 when Quincy was a rising star, performing on NBC\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>The Carson Daly Show<\/span>\u00a0and L.A. radio station KCRW\u2019s coveted\u00a0<\/span>Morning Becomes Eclectic.<\/span>\u00a0Her music was featured in film & TV including Fox Searchlight\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Waitress<\/span>\u00a0and NBC\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Brothers and Sisters<\/span>. At the same time, Quincy graced the cover of Music Connection magazine; American\u00a0Songwriter\u00a0M<\/span>agazine noted, \u00a0<\/span>\u201cNot only has God graced her with a gorgeous voice, her songs are un<\/span>de<\/span>niably catchy.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Shortly after a sold-out benefit concert in\u00a0<\/span>support<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>National Multiple Sclerosis Society–Southern California<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles in September, 2009, Quincy was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. \u201cI was brought right back home to my\u00a0soul,\u201d she recalls. By taking responsibility for her part in the manifestation of the disease, “loving and listening” to the cancer in her body rather than fighting it, the healing began and reversed without western medicine or conventional treatment<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
“I am living with stage IV cancer and so are you,<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Quincy states. \u201cThe house of humanity is on fire with a stage IV cancer called racism. And the house that we know as Mother Earth\u00a0is on fire with a stage IV cancer called climate change. If we can heed the call to action by taking responsibility for our part in the manifestation of this disease, choosing to love and listen to our black and brown brothers and sisters and the earth, then, and only then, will we be able to truly heal and transform, shifting into wholeness and harmony within ourselves, each other and the planet!\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
