Michael Hepworth<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Legendary Blues-Rock Band Delivers the Goods on New Album Coming August 28 via Quarto Valley Records<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n ATLANTA, GA Perfect Music Today) 6\/16\/20\/– \u2013 <\/b>Legendary blues-rock band Savoy Brown, birthed in London 55 years ago and long-based in upstate New York, announces the August 28 release of their exciting new album, Ain\u2019t Done Yet<\/i><\/b>, on Quarto Valley Records. Their latest disc follows on the heels of Savoy Brown\u2019s highly-successful 2019 CD, City Night<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n Bruce Quarto, QVR founder and CEO said,\u00a0“Quarto Valley Records is honored to continue working with Savoy Brown on this second QVR release, Ain’t Done Yet<\/b>,\u00a0<\/i>which is now one of my all-time favorites. It’s full of great energy that is the trademark of all their blues-rock music, and everyone who hears it will immediately agree that Savoy Brown ain’t\u00a0nowhere near\u00a0<\/i>done yet.”<\/p>\n \u201cThe new album is a continuance of the approach I\u2019ve been taking with the band this past decade,\u201d says guitarist\/singer\/songwriter Kim Simmonds, who formed the band in 1965 in London, England, and is one of the longest running blues\/rock bands in existence. \u201cThe big difference with the new album is the multi-layer approach I took to recording the guitar parts. It\u2019s all blues-based rock music. I try to find new and progressive ways to write and play the music I\u2019ve loved since I was a young teenager.\u201d<\/p>\n Simmonds has been the group’s guiding hand from the first singles released in 1966 through this newest effort,\u00a0Savoy Brown\u2019s 41st album release. On the new record, Simmonds (guitar harmonica and vocals) is once again joined by his long-running bandmates Pat DeSalvo (bass) and Garnet Grimm (drums).<\/p>\n \u201cI recorded\u00a0Ain\u2019t Done Yet<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/i>at Showplace Studios in New Jersey, where I\u2019ve recorded many times before,\u201d Simmonds affirms.\u00a0\u201cOwner\/engineer Ben Elliott passed away shortly after the recording and I\u2019ve dedicated the album to him.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Energetic blues has been the calling card of the band from the beginning, but Simmonds infuses the 10 tracks on Ain\u2019t Done Yet <\/i><\/b>with a new spirit and vitality – plus some serious guitar chops – in a variety of styles and roots sounds that transcend the blues-rock idiom. \u201cI emphasized song content on the new album, yet I left plenty of room for band improvisation,\u201d he admits.\u00a0\u201cFor instance, there are two acoustic-based songs\u00a0and also two six-minute songs where I\u2019m able to stretch out on guitar solos.\u201d<\/p>\n Ain\u2019t Done Yet <\/i><\/b>kicks-off in high gear with the album\u2019s first radio focus track, \u201cAll Gone Wrong.\u201d \u201cI\u2019ve always liked \u201cAll Gone Wrong,\u201d and it\u2019s one of my favorites on the album,\u201d declares Simmonds.<\/p>\n Savoy Brown will support the release of Ain’t Done Yet <\/i><\/b>with a late summer tour that extends through 2021.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n About Savoy Brown<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n Blues-rock became the catch-all phrase in the late 1960s to describe the band’s musical genre along with that of contemporaries such as Cream, John Mayall and Jimi Hendrix.<\/p>\n In fact, in the 2013 drama film\u00a0Jimi: All Is By My Side<\/i>, a Savoy Brown song written by Simmonds, \u201cTrain To Nowhere,\u201d was included in the soundtrack.<\/p>\n Many of Savoy Brown\u2019s singles and albums have appeared on the Billboard <\/i><\/b>Hot Hundred charts, including songs such as \u201cI\u2019m Tired\u201d and\u00a0\u201cTell Mama,\u201d as well as\u00a0 albums such as\u00a0Hellbound Train<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0Street Corner Talking<\/i><\/b>.
