The music that Hendrix, along with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles, made over those two nights catalyzed a paradigm shift in the world of Black Music, the reverberations from which are still being felt today. \u00a0Today a new animated video was launched in which you can hear him talk about\u00a0Music That Changed Lives.<\/em><\/p>\n *Nelson George is an established author and filmmaker with a passion for telling stories of the black experience in America. George is the author of several ground breaking histories of African American music, including\u00a0Where Did Our Love Go: the Rise and Fall of the Motown Sound<\/em>,\u00a0The Death of Rhythm & Blues<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Hip Hop America<\/em>. As a novelist he has written several popular novels with music themes (The Accidental Hunter<\/em>,\u00a0The Plot Against Hip Hop<\/em>, and\u00a0The Lost Treasures of R&B<\/em>). He is currently working on the fourth installment of his D. Hunter mystery series.<\/p>\n In television, George was a producer on the Emmy Award winning\u00a0The Chris Rock Show<\/em>\u00a0(HBO), a producer on\u00a0Hip Hop Honors<\/em>\u00a0(VH1), and executive producer of the high rated\u00a0American Gangster<\/em>\u00a0crime series (BET).<\/p>\n Travel has also been one of his major subjects, as he hosted\u00a0Soul Cities<\/em>\u00a0for the VH1 Soul Channel and\u00a0Black Atlas<\/em>\u00a0web series for American Airlines.<\/p>\n As a filmmaker George has co-written the screenplays to\u00a0Strictly Business\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0CB4<\/em>. He directed Queen Latifah to a Golden Globe in the HBO film\u00a0Life Support<\/em>,\u00a0which he also co-wrote. He has directed a number of documentaries including\u00a0Finding the Funk<\/em>\u00a0(VH1),\u00a0The Announcement<\/em>\u00a0(ESPN), and\u00a0Brooklyn Boheme<\/em>\u00a0(Showtime). His theatrical documentary on ballerina Misty Copeland is called A\u00a0Ballerina’s Tale<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0He is a writer\/producer on\u00a0The Get Down\u00a0<\/em>(Netflix), which premiers on August. In 2016, he directed\u00a0The Real MVP<\/em>\u00a0movie (Lifetime).
