I RODE WITH ANGELYNE

HOLLYWOOD (Perfect Music Today) 8/5/17/–I had a fun meeting with Angelyne. We asked each other questions, and we talked a lot about photography, music, film, the arts, and other stuff. For me, Angelyne will always be Angelyne.
She was wearing soft lambskin like driving gloves while we drove around Hollywood in her cool pink 2016 Corvette. I asked her “What year is your previous Corvette?” “2008” she said. We listened to her song Kiss Me L.A. She said it was played a lot on KROQ.
Angelyne said she was influenced by Jim Morrison’s singing. We also listened to some of my music and she asked me “what instrument do you write on?” “Guitar,” I said, “and I’m also writing now on piano too.”
Sexy Stranger was her next song we listened to. Then we listened to her song Blue High Heel Shoes, which she said is her answer to Blue Suede Shoes. In her song Draculove she drives a stake through the guy’s heart.
She did a cover of the Elvis Presley song Teddy Bear. She said she liked when Elvis sang the song Sweet Angeline. I told Angelyne her sound reminds me of Blondie. Angelyne said Debbie Harry is so sweet, and that Debbie bought a t-shirt from her.
I asked Angelyne if she has a favorite restaurant and she said “Musso & Frank Grill, Connie and Ted’s, and Acapulco.” Then as we drove by Hollywood High School she pointed out the mascot is the Sheiks.
She said Bryan Adams is one of her favorite photographers and I told her I photographed Bryan. She asked if I can you do a bunch of pictures at once and I said “Yes, I like a power winder, especially if the subject is moving”.
She said she did a painting of Divine for a John Waters film and that Waters interviewed her. I told her I photographed John Waters
Angelyne said I reminded her of Woody Allen. I thanked her and told her that I am a big fan of Woody’s and I even got to photograph him. I asked where she grew up and she said “It’s a long story.”
She asked me if I have had an out of body experience. I said “not yet, have you?” She said she liked to ask that question a lot.
