On tour in all 52 states of America in 2021 playing the music of Elton John has not only kept Elton John music alive and being enjoyed by thousands of people, but has also helped Tom Cridland recover from a serious vice.
Elton’s songs has helped him recover from serious addiction where he nearly drank himself to serious injury and death on a number of occasions. You can read more about this here.
Making music finally helped him kick the all to common vice of alcoholism His song, Falling off the Rails, caught the attention of the Grammy nominated Philadelphia Soul group, The Stylistics and invited him to tour with them last month. What literally helped him get through each day when trying to stop consuming alcohol initially was listening and playing Elton and Bernie Taupin’s timeless songs. He was also inspired to start making his own music by becoming a close friend of Elton’s original and current drummer, Nigel Olsson. As it’s Elton’s last ever tour this year, he’s marking the occasion by touring every single state in the US, playing covers of his songs.
