DONNY OSMOND TO LAUNCH THE SEASON

Cerritos,CA(Perfect Music Today)6/29/15/–Pop legend , Donny Osmond will be the opening attraction at the Cerritos Center for  the Performing Arts when the new season opens on Saturday September 19th. That week will be a big one for the Center with Neil Sedaka on September 20th, and the amazing Isley Brothers on September 26th. That is a rare southern California appearance for the soul legends, who will be playing their brilliant roster of hits. If you are into soul you must also catch Mavis Staples on October 3rd and the timeless Temptations on December 4th, back by popular demand.

Reggae fans will want to check out the veteran British outfit UB40 on October 10th, and smooth soul crooner Peabo Bryson brings his Xmas show along with a few friends on December 12th. Talking of crooners, the wonderful Johnny Mathis Xmas show is a must see on December 18th where he will be singing his classic hits along with his seasonal songs that only he can sing.

Another big attraction coming to Cerritos will be the extremely populat TEN Tenors on December 6th. The Australian group have six platinum and gold records and they bring their Home for the Holidays Xmas extravaganza to the stage.

Ragtime closes out the season on the closing weekend of April 1st and 2nd with a whole new touring production. One show that stands out for me is the Bollywood Masala Orchestra and the Dancers of India bringing their colorful and lively sounds to the stage on October 4th.

The classics get a showcase on February 3rd with a performance of Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata by violinist Blake Pouliat and Hsin-I-Huang on piano. What also looks interesting to this writer at last is happening on February 20th with the legendary Band of the Scots Guards along with the Pipes, Drums and Highland Dancers of the Black Watch 3rd Battalion. Ballet fans have not been forgotten either with a performance by Moscow Festival Ballet of Cinderella on January 30..
